Behz

The not so humble Beh is the weakest but also the most common of the minors races. They are essentially a race of large 2 foot long bumblebees that roam the lands and make honey. Though technically not an actual bee at all- but rather more like the Puss Caterpillar of Earth. A Beh is basically a giant furry maggot that can fly. Behz are broken off into several sub-classes. The common Honey Beh. The giant and dangerous Abominable Bumble Beh. And the deadly Africanized Killer Beh.

But the vast majority of Behz are the reasonable Honey Behz. Honey Behz live in colonies ran by a single massive queen. The queen is a gargantuan pulsating maggot that has gotten too fat and too long to fly. It’s similar in appearance to a terminate queen or a large pus filled larva. The queen lays all the eggs in the colony and is likewise the only Beh that actually reproduces.

Unlike earth bees- Behz usually made their hives under the ground in tunnels made from sand and their own saliva. Additionally the tunnels give way to large rooms covered in honeycombs that hold food, brood, water, honey dew, pollen or honey.

Behz are vital to many of the giant plants that grow all over the Core Galaxy. Behz spread shiny glittering sprinkles of pollen and a phosphorus agent wherever they go. It’s why they seem to sparkle. While most Behz are armed only with toxic stingers – it should be noted that many have stinging toxic fur. Some can even spit shots of acid at opponents.

Behz have formed a rather interesting mutually beneficial relationship with the tiny but mighty Catato. They trade goods and occasionally even defend one another. This is important because where there are Behz - there are usually the dreaded Wasps and or Hornets nearby. With no meaningful defense, the Behz were constantly at the mercy of the murderous giant Wasps for ages. That until the Humans, Solack, and the Catato arrived. Humans and Solack often farm Behz for honey and to increase pollination. They both protect and defend the Behz against wasps and will destroy any Wasp colonies they find. The Catato will similarly hunt down and destroy Wasp colonies with a shower of acid.

But it’s the Solack that take the prize for killing Wasps. The Solack actively hunt Hornets and Wasps. But unlike Humans or Catato- the Solack kill Wasps even when they are not bothering them. The Solack kill out of spite or pleasure. They simply enjoy genocide. Enjoy murder for murder’s sake. But only when the target’s race offends them so. – Like Wasps and Hornets. For both are the ancient foe of the ants that the Solack once evolved from. That hatred for Wasps never subsided in the Solack. That is why they often hunt them for no reason. Not even for sport. Just to kill.

Since the newcomers starting culling back the Wasps – Beh numbers have grown dramatically. Behz have also been transported to many new worlds and exotic lands. Overall the Beh is a bright success story.
